Just had: Maggi Pazzta

Just had Maggi's newly launched Pazzta. I made it as prescribed, cause I wanted to see how it is.

The Downside
- The quantity is quite less. Its not a full meal for a person like the noodles, its a snack.

- The tastemaker is really strong, though this might have more to do with me, since I rarely have onion, garlic (being a Jain). I found the tastemaker only onion and a bit of garlic, what about all the other masalas salt, ajwain, pepper etc..??

The Upside:
- The pasta is made of Suji/Rawa! The fact that its not maida, makes it quite a healthy snack as far as I am concerned :)

- Its again a '5 minute' snack. The best part of Maggi noodles I find is how quick it is to make. These pasta follow that tradition and we have one more quick and tasty snack from Nestle.

Tips:
-Add more water than they say! Atleast 3 small cups.

All in all the taste was quite good. A good accompaniment to have along with bread and maybe a hot cup of tea!

1/2 packet of tastemaker and herbs Maggi

Finally succumbed to using some tastemaker. It is very difficult to stick to my no tastemaker recipes when I am making maggi for other people too! I found a middle way by putting half the tastemaker in it.

This maggi goes the usual way put maggi in boiling water, open tastemaker packet and pour in roughly half the masala and throw/store the rest for later..(You can also put in some chopped tomatos/spinach if you want) Once the maggi is almost done add a pinch of salt and some crushed ajwain in it.

Another addition is putting some dried herbs in it. I got some mixed herbs, oregano and mint from a store recently. Just pour these when the maggi is in the bowl you are gonna eat in, after cooking and all.

Yummy...

Waterlogged maggi with Oil

Waterlogged maggi in this rainy season... will have you licking your lips for more!

Take more water than needed, maybe 3 cups for one maggi. Put the water to boil, add chopped veggies (cabbage, tomato, capsicum etc). Put the noodles when the water starts boiling. Add lot of ajwain, salt, red chilli powder. (I don't eat the tastemaker). Also add a generous quantity of oil, maybe one or two small spoons of oil.

Then let it over cook a bit. Once done, the maggi will be waterlogged, but it is really tasty cause the oil mixed in the water along with red chilli makes it a very cool combo!

Overcooked Maggi

I surprise myself as I blog about Maggi. Can't help it, I make all these delicious (for health foodies atleast!) Maggi versions and I just feel like sharing with my blog readers :p

So if you have ever been to an IIT, IIM, or other canteens, they generally have a Maggi counter. This Maggi is different from home Maggi, cause it is overcooked.
I really like this overcooked Maggi, recently just made it with a chopped tomato, capsicum and some cabbage.

Instead of the masala I put ajwain, oregano and salt. A little bit (half slice) of cheese.

Quite rockin!

Maggi With Tomato and Spinach

A few variations to the Maggi without Masala:

As the water is boiling put the masala (ie ajwain, little red mirchi, salt) then put one medium sized tomato chopped, spinach leaves chopped.
For a minute or so let these veggies boil in the water.

Then add the maggi noodles stir it, let it heat for 3 minutes.
Put some oregano leaves (usually you might have left over Dominos packets) on top once you switch off the stove.

This makes it quite healthy with tomato and spinach leaves which provide the fibrous content.
A few days ago at my friends house I put some black olives instead of spinach leaves, thats cool too!!

Maggi without Masala

Just made some Maggi with out masala!

This may be news to some of you'l out there if you are not a jain or a health freak.
Jain's (atleast the strict ones) do not eat onion and garlic so the Maggi taste maker is a big no-no.
So how they make maggi is the same way as anyone else but instead of masala they put salt and some chilli powder!

So I being a jain (not a strict one) and a health freak of sorts made maggi with some really cool masala.
Salt, Ajwain seeds, dry ginger powder and little red chilli powder!

Ajwain seeds are really good for health so is dried ginger powder. It tasted quite good!
Give it a try sometime and tell me how bad it is :D
